Wow its been almost a week since Ive posted! I have been much better at posting since Blogtober so a week seems huge! haha
The reason i have been quiet it that most of my crafting has been for Christmas pressies and swaps that i cant share with you. I know my mum sometimes reads my blog so i cant post family pressies damn!( i have just finished off something beautiful for mum though ;) )
What i CAN share with you is the beautiful "Yarn swap" package i received yesterday morning.
This swap was based on a favourite book. My swapper chose "Twilight" as my theme ( from a list of my favs) and came up with this amazing package:
yarn, patterns for Bella's mittens and Jacobs "La Push" beanie, a red note book and magic knitters pen, and handmade stitch markers.
The yarn is both hand dyed AND hand spun!!!!! in the colours of the twilight series, red and black.
closeup of stitch markers:
i LOVE my package and what is funny is that the package I put together ( and is in the post) was Twilight themed too! hehehe

kreativ award!
Wow i have been honoured with another blog award!
The lovely Melsh has nominated me for the "kreativ blogger award"! She is one face i see around my blog all the time and i really appreciate your contributions and opinions! muah! xx
So now i have to come up with 7 things that you might find interesting about me, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
1. I have so many crafty projects coming out of my ears at the moment it is ridiculous! I have yarn swaps to finish off ( including dyeing the yarn!) three felt food lunch boxes to make, one set of finger puppets, one doll, 4 handmade objects for another swap I'm organising, a personal swap shawl, plus all my Christmas knitting for my whole family! phew! oh and make something for the Toy Society's Christmas drop!
2. My new passion is sock yarn and sock knitting :)
3. I am one of "those" twilight people, but now way near extreme as most! hahaha cant wait to see New Moon. Currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse ( trueblood) books.
4. My Christmas wish list so far has "Sock Innovation" by Cookie A (sock pattern book) and a heap more of the Knitpro interchangeable needles. I would love some perfume too.
5. I have not eaten bread for two weeks and have lost 3 kgs just like that!
6. I would LOVE to get back into singing again, i miss is something chronic.
7. I have made and sent two Kohas (random acts of anonymous kindness, mine were in gift form) this week :) Plan on doing at least one a week until Christmas to share the love :)
So there you go!
Right girls now i need to pass this honour over to 7 other kreativ bloggers!
I'm going to nominate a bunch of women who i have met through "The Nappy Network" over the past three years. These women give me such inspiration and friendship. Muah! xxx

My gorgeous friends :)
I am very lucky to have such caring and wonderful friends :)
My local knitting club sneakily put together a surprise package for me over the last couple of weeks, after a swap i participated in months ago had a glitch and i didn't receive a package.
here is what i got!
A book on 1001 uses for Vinegar, some weight watchers goodies, raspberry liquorice, fair trade soap and coin purse, some scrummy freedom spirit yarn and some hand dyed hand spun "gruffalo" yarn!

The Toy Society
I thought i would spread the word about a wonderful organization called "The Toy Society"
From their website
"The Toy Society spreads the love throughout the streets of the world. Nothing to it really just a bunch of handmade toys looking for a nice home."
Sounds pretty simple doesn't it?
The aim of the game is to create a handmade toy with love, package it up safely with some details inside and then drop it off somewhere that it will be found appreciatively, for example a playground, library, outside a museum etc.
Hopefully the lucky recipient will pop over to the blog and post about receiving it :)
I think this is such a wonderful idea and i am looking forward to making my first drop!
I am also going to be participating in this years mass Christmas drop which is a worldwide synchronized toy drop. Pop on over the the blog and sign up to be a part of this wonderful movement. You know you want to!

SOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are finally finished!
My first ever socks that have been neglected for other craft and knitting projects are finally finished!
I am so stoked that i chose to be brave and try an interesting pattern off the bat (despite advice from many to chose a plain pattern ;)
I learnt alot of new knitting skills including magic loop, short rows, M1, kitchener stitch and new lace techniques so i am feeling alot more confident to attempt some more technical projects!
I LOVE the Vintage Purls yarn i used and can see myself buying ALOT more of it in the future hehe
Right so enough chitchat, i sure you all want to see photos!!!!!!!
Now i need to sort out what im goign to do with the first pair i cast on in the wrong number of stitches. Im goign to do basic rib but need to have a think on how to do the decreasing etc.

Two years ago................
Two years ago today (to the minute) i was standing here.............................................
Yip, today is my two year wedding aniversary and i thought i would share some photos of the most beautiful day of my life :)
Getting ready...........
Bridal party.....
Me and my darling....
Ambience......
I could keep posting photos forever but you get the idea hehehe.
We had a morning wedding in the garden of some dear family friends of ours. Photos on the beach and in the garden and then a gorgeous marque lunch reception set up on the lawn :) Most guests left around 6pm but some of our closest friends and siblings stayed on to party with us as we lit a fire, toasted marshmellows, then danced at the pub across the road haha. It was a perfect day :)

This weeks FO
We had a last minute dicision to head down to Kapiti for the weekend to go to a 2nd birthday party and the annual Syrawberry festival :)
I finished this size 2 Milo vest on two days ( a knitting record for me) which was greatly loved by the mother (phew!) The yarn is some beautiful luxery BWM 8ply hand dyed for me in a swap i posted about a while ago.
I forgot to take any photos over the weekend but we had an awsome time :) At the festival, the last band to play turned out to be some of Robs good mates from his Uni days so was nice to catch up :)

Gauging interest.
Ive been thinking alot lately on how i could make a bit of $$$ at home without sacrificing crafty time etc hehe.
I am often asked if i have patterns for my softies and finger puppets etc and the answer is allways "No, i just make it up as i go along :) "
I was thinking this arvo wether there would be a market for patterns or " Softie kits." The kits would have the materials and the pattern for one of my softies.
Does this sound like a good idea? yes no? i would love your honest answers please :)
