Blogtober #12 Belated baby gift

A friend of mine had a beautiful homebirthed 3rd child a month ago and it has taken me this long to get aroudn to finishing her gift!!!! woopsie

She was inundated with beautiful knitted girly things from out knitting crowd so i decided to make something a bit differnt.

I went with a collaged canvas as i havent made one for AGESSSS
I was hard to take any photos wihtout a flash blur but here is the best i could do, her name "Meg" is on the left



Cant wait to give it to her tomorrow and hope she doesnt read this before then hehe

Blogtober #10 Dyeing on a Saturday afternoon

This afternoon me and a couple of my crafty friends had a bit of a dyeing party for an upcomming "Kiwiana" yarn swap :)

We had some AWSOME results and this was my creation:



Can you guess what my theme was? go on...can ya? hehe

I cant wait for the big reveal in a couple of weeks!

I wrote all the names down on little bits of paper and got Ashton to pick one out with his eyes closed ( yes he is wearing a blanket and dinosaur hat hehe, he was being a "superhero" )

Blogtober #8 My Boys xxx

The sun was shinning yesterday for the first time in a week of tsumami and tornado warnings so me and my boys made the most of it :)

Blogtober #7 Down in the garden...

We have success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After 3 weeks of watering, dragging the buckets out into the sun and then back inside at night, we finally have a sign that things are growing!

1 little zuccini out of 6 that i planted:


And 1 teeney tiny little tomato shoot in amongst all the grass sprouts ( note to self, use potting mix next time, not just dig a hole in the yard hehe)



I found this cute little guy in the Warehouse over the weekend too for only $2.99 and i HAD to have him :)


Hopefully we will see some more sprouts over the next few days!

Blogtober #4 Whats for dinner?

We have been battening down the hatches at our place today with super scary winds and freezing cold temperatures.

We spent the afternoon rugged up on the couch with duvets and popcorn watching the old classic "Lion King" with the boys :)

Then comes "Whats for dinner mum?" and what is more perfect ona chilly lazy sunday then homemade pumpkin soup :)



My recipe goes a little something like this.......

1 Medium sized pumpkin from the farmers market
3 medium sized potatoes from the farmers market
1 large onion ( can you guess where from? )
3 cups chicken stock
1 cup chicken gravy
cracked pepper
salt
nutmeg
1 cup milk stirred through at the end and garnished with sour cream :)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Swappity Swap Swap

For day 3 of Blogtoberfest i thought i would share with you some crafty goodness from a swap that i have just organised and participated in :)

The only criteria were for the gifts to be handcrafted. We could chose which craft, which family members we were going to make for, how many gifts to make, how much $$$ to spend etc.

I drew out of the hat and for my swappee i got a Harry Potter nut hehe :)

How cool would it be to receive a Hogwarts acceptance letter and chest full of magical goddies? Pretty cool i thought so here is what i put together for her

The chest it all came in, grafittied with "slytherin sux" and "H4G"

All the goodies


* 1 acceptance letter into Hogwarts, from professor McGonagal
* 1 Magic Wand
* 1 pair of Gryffindor pride slippers , complete with Lion buttons
* 1 "Monster book of Monsters"
* 1 Golden Snitch dishcloth
* 1 set of knitted owl cards
* 1 S.P.E.W badge
* 1 dose of "Felix Felicis"



She was super excited to recieve it so a Job welldone 8)

The next day i recieved my package and wow.....wow......WOW!
